Drumline 2026

General Information

The Baylor Drum Line consists of musicians who come from all facets of university life.  The philosophy of the marching percussion program at Baylor is one that aims to balance personal and educational growth. The Baylor Drum Line strives to create an environment that is conducive to a high level of performance while upholding the rich traditions of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band. 

Each member of the drum line, new or returning, is required to audition for a position every year.  Positions include performance on the following instruments: Snare Drum, Tenor Drums, Bass Drum, and Cymbals. The BDL adheres to a drum and bugle corps-style of playing and marching.

2026 Audition Information

The Baylor Drumline uses an online audition process. Prospective members will be required to submit a video audition. 

In order to obtain the audition information, all interested perspective students must fill out the 2026 Golden Wave Band Online Contact Form. Drumline audition packets will be sent out in May 2026 to committed Baylor and MCC students.

2026 Audition Timeline

     Step 1: Prospective members complete the 2026 Golden Wave Band Online Contact Form.

     Step 2: Prospective and returning members complete the 2026 BDL Audition Agreement Form. Form will be sent by the                                              Band Coordinator to committed Baylor and MCC students.

     Step 3: Audition materials will be emailed out in mid to late May by Band Coordinator.

     Step 4: Video submissions due June 29, 2026 and will be reviewed by BDL Leadership. The drumline instructor will                                                      reach out to each applicant with results by mid-July. 

     Step 5: Drumline Camp, August 13-16, 2026: final instrument determinations will be made during camp; preseason                                                      week begins August 16, 2026.
