General Information

The Baylor Drum Line consists of musicians who come from all facets of university life.  The philosophy of the marching percussion program at Baylor is one that aims to balance personal and educational growth. The Baylor Drum Line strives to create an environment that is conducive to a high level of performance while upholding the rich traditions of the Baylor University Golden Wave Band. 

Each member of the drum line, new or returning, is required to audition for a position every year.  Positions include performance on the following instruments: Snare Drum, Tenor Drums, Bass Drum, and Cymbals. The BDL adheres to a drum and bugle corps-style of playing and marching.

2025 Audition Information

The Baylor Drumline uses an online audition process. Prospective members will be required to submit a video audition. In order to obtain the audition music, all interested students must fill out the 2025 Golden Wave Band Online Contact Form. Drumline audition packets will be sent out in May 2025.

*Important* As a reminder please be sure to carefully read the Required Video Audition Recording Procedures in the audition packet. This will help to ensure you have the strongest possible audition from a presentation standpoint.  The audition committee may request a re-submission if your video does not follow the appropriate guidelines. Prospective members are highly encouraged to submit videos as soon as possible with all videos due by July 9th. Audition materials will be emailed out in May.

2025 Audition Deadlines

Audition date. Video submissions will be due by July 9th. Final/callback auditions (if necessary) will occur in person during Drumline Camp (August 2025).
